2020 continued to be harsh for the world on Friday as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crashed in Karachi just before landing. All the passengers on board including the crew members (total 107) reportedly died in the crash. The news started doing the rounds on social media soon after the unfortunate incident that the Pakistan cricketer Yasir Shah was also in the flight and passed away in the crash.
Looking at the death rumors surfacing on Twitter, Yasir Shah himself decided to clear the air. He took to his official Twitter handle and told his fans that he is safe at home and wasn’t on the PIA flight traveling to Karachi. He also paid tribute to the people who lost their lives and expressed solidarity for their families during this tough time. However, he deleted the tweet soon after and is yet to come up with a new tweet.
As far as Yasir Shah is concerned, he last played international cricket in February in a Test against Bangladesh and was also involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The leg-spinner featured in four matches of the league for the Peshawar Zalmi picking three wickets. With Pakistan likely to tour England for the Test and T20I series (reportedly) in August, he might be seen in action soon.
